Lesson Plan
I created and implemented this lesson while in my kindergarten clinical at Frankilin Elementary. The children in this classroom were kindergartners and first graders, so this lesson would be appropriate for either grades. The children were studying about the farm and this is why I decided to do this lesson.

Description of the Experience:
This theme is connected to the future activities because children will hopefully study farm in higher grades. This experience may help the children make and grasp more connections about responsibilities of a farmer or the farm in general when they are in higher grades or just observing around the area they live.

1. See the Introduction to the experience

2. “We are going to look and read books that show us the jobs farmers do. (If you have something to say, what will you do?-raise hand)

3. Show children several books and read selected pages that show farmers doing their responsibilities.

4. Have children explain what the farmers are doing.

5. “What tools are they using?”

6. “Are farmer only men?”

7. Close this part of the activity by having short discussion:

8. What do farmers use to help them get their jobs done?

9. When do they do their jobs?

10. “Now each of you will be making a page to add to the classroom book about a farmer's jobs.”

11. Show children one page. Explain that they will try to read the sentence on the bottom of the page and if they need ask myself or a friend.

12. Then you will draw a picture that describes that sentence.

13. When I call your name come see me and we will give you your page.

14. When you are finished with your pages come see me because you will also have to sign the cover of the page so everyone knows who wrote the book.

15. When children are finished have them gather at the large group area by singing a song.

16. “We are going to play a game called charades. Each of you will pretend to be a farmer.

17. When it is your turn you will pick a card and read what you job you will act out for your classmates to guess.

18. “Do we speak when we are playing “charades?”

19. Pick a child and begin the game.
